Who are Hawaii’s key players?

·By Chad Blair

Maya Soetoro-Ng, President Obama’s half-sister and Hawaii resident, lent the Obama glow to Neil Abercrombie’s campaign for governor at a fund-raiser the other night. Is she a player?

Movers, shakers, lawmakers, industrialists, CEOs, educators, grassroots advocates, cultural practitioners — there are a lot of people in Hawaii that make the islands go ’round. Each reporter-host is tasked with identifying key players as part of our online service. We’d love your help.

In my case I have a key-player list on the Hawaii page and one on pages tackling one-party dominance and homelessness. They’re a work in progress, so I apologize if I left a person or group out .

Linda Lingle? Check. HGEA? Yep. Hawaii Tourism Authority. You betcha. Others?
