Waikiki Improvement Association President Rick Egged told Civil Beat after the meeting that the gift is only to help the HPD enforce existing sidewalk ordinances, and that there are no sidewalk ordinances that regulate street performers. Egged works with the BID, but cannot speak for that entity, he said.
