1. An earlier version of this story mistakenly stated that Durham would be the first mainland school bus company to enter Hawaii's market. At least one mainland company, ARA Transportation (which was later bought by Laidlaw Education Services, which has since been purchased by First Student, Inc.), used to operate Leeward Bus Company until it was sold to a local operator in 1980.
