U.S. Senate candidate Linda Lingle‘s campaign isn’t missing an opportunity to fire back at national Democrats who are criticizing the former Hawaii governor. 

When DC808 asked Lingle’s campaign about her possible role in GOP strategist Karl Rove‘s network of Republican groups dedicated to helping GOP candidates get elected in 2012, the campaign was straightforward: Lingle is “not involved,” it said. 

Hours later, the Lingle campaign issued a more politically charged response, criticizing state and national Democrats for continuing to “sing from the same old tired sheet of music” as a way to ignore the issues that matter to voters. 

“As they well know, Governor Lingle does not have any involvement in the day-to-day operations of the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC), and to insinuate a direct connection with any third party organization is false and misleading. It’s time for them to be honest with Hawaii voters.”

Politico first reported a connection between the RJC and Rove’s coalition. As for Lingle’s involvement with the RJC, she is a member of the group’s board of directors, and was listed as a keynote speaker for an event the RJC hosted in Los Angeles last month. The RJC’s political action committee gave her campaign $5,000 last quarter.  …
