Sen. Daniel Akaka, 87, is “feeling good” after his family sought medical attention for him “out of an abundance of caution” over the weekend, a spokesman said.

“He was diagnosed with dehydration,” Akaka spokesman Jesse Broder Van Dyke said in an email.

As DC808 reported earlier on Monday, Akaka was one of four senators to miss a key vote in Washington on Monday. Asked if Akaka was hospitalized, Broder Van Dyke said the senator’s family is not releasing any more information at this time. …
