Last month, the Honolulu Board of Water Supply accidentally sent a $54,000 water bill to a customer in error. This month, they did it again. KHON reports:

“That was a human error on our part,” said Ernest Lau, from the Board of Water Supply. “And I thought we had it corrected, but unfortunately the next cycle around for the bill he got another bill for $54,000 also. Again, a second time around due to human error.”

You may be wondering just how much water would you have to use to generate such a massive bill?

“That would be the equivalent of ten football fields – if it was a pool ten feet deep, ten of those fields filled with water; Approximately 10,000,000 gallons of water is what we are being billed for,” Akina said. (Alan Akina was the unlucky recipient of the bills) …
