This last push obviously wasn’t enough to help Carlisle, who is now a lame duck mayor after coming in third behind former Hawaii Gov. Ben Cayetano and former Honolulu managing director Kirk Caldwell.
Carlisle lagged behind both his opponents in fundraising, something that probably didn’t help his campaign.
But when looking at the $10,000 per day figure it’s more than any other stretch during 2012. Between Jan. 1 and June 30 Carlisle spent about $1,370 a day. From July 1-July 27 that amount was nearly $8,500.
Carlisle’s campaign finance report shows he still had a nearly $30,000 surplus as of Aug. 11. Both Cayetano and Caldwell are required to submit their reports by Friday.…
