Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle spent nearly $152,000 in the two weeks leading up to the Aug. 11 primary, according to the latest information from the Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission. That’s more than $10,000 a day.
This last push obviously wasn’t enough to help Carlisle, who is now a lame duck mayor after coming in third behind former Hawaii Gov. Ben Cayetano and former Honolulu managing director Kirk Caldwell.
Carlisle lagged behind both his opponents in fundraising, something that probably didn’t help his campaign.
