Lots of talk about Native Hawaiian burials as well as other “traditional cultural properties.”
Seems to be a sticking point for the judge too. He seems to be asking more questions about these issues than others touched on earlier.
Plaintiffs say city and federal government didn’t consider the burials in downtown Honolulu enough beforehand.
An attorney on the other side said it was prudent to defer some of this work because too much archeological surveying could have been more disruptive than the project itself.
