10:14 p.m. — Green Party: Paper Ballot Issues Derailed Bonk Victory
Keiko Bonk showed up at Elections HQ demanding that the state Office of Elections explain why so many Oahu precincts ran out of paper ballots.
Bonk is the Green Party candidate running to represent District 20 — which includes Kaimuki and Palolo — in the state House. As of 9:30 p.m., she was losing to incumbent Rep. Calvin Say by 29 percent.
Hawaii Green Party attorney Lance D. Collins said the elections office violated a slew of federal laws in not providing sufficient paper ballots.
