U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz has raised $3.4 million in his election bid, bringing in $704,600 in the latest election cycle.
That compares with $1.6 million total raised by his opponent in the Senate Democratic primary, Rep. Colleen Hanabusa. She took in $454,700 in the fourth quarter.
The latest figures, which cover the October through December period, were provided to Civil Beat by the respective campaigns. The full Senate fundraising reports are not due to the Federal Election Commission until the end of the month.
“We are very humbled by the support we received last quarter and would like to say thank you to everyone who stepped up to embrace our vision for the future of Hawaii,” Hanabusa said in a statement.
“We appreciate the strong support that people across Hawaii have shown for the work he has done,” said Schatz campaign manager Clay Schroers.
