Elwin Ahu, senior pastor at New Hope Metro church, today announced his candidacy for Hawaii lieutenant governor.
Ahu will run in the Republican primary. If he wins, he will likely be on a ticket headed by former Lt. Gov. Duke Aiona.
“I’m excited today because ‘it’s time!’” Ahu said before supporters gathered at the Queen Lili’uokalani statue at the Hawaii State Capitol. “It’s time to return the government back to its people and to restore their faith, trust and confidence in its leaders. It’s time for reasoned and compassionate leadership to guide our state.”
