Looking to catch waves in Waikiki during APEC? You may want to look elsewhere. Three popular Waikiki surf breaks will be closed on Sunday, Nov. 12.

When: 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 — 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12
Where: Threes, Paradise, Populars (Pops)

"Any breaks that are inside the security zone — people aren't going to be allowed to use them," said Lt. Patton Epperson, with the U.S. Coast Guard.

The nearby beach areas will be marked with signs and any errant surfer who attempts to cross into the security zone will be intercepted by the Coast Guard on jet ski or small boat, he said.

Here's a map showing the affected breaks. Threes and Paradise are the two in the middle, the only one missing is Pops.

Why Saturday? That's the date that President Barack Obama is scheduled to host the leaders of APEC member economies at the Hale Koa Hotel, the 817-room resort used exclusively by U.S. military members and their families.

The beach area behind the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Hale Koa Hotel and Fort DeRussy Park will also be off limits on Saturday.
