Darwin Ching

Darwin Ching is the former director of the Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. Ching lost a nonpartisan Sept. 18, 2010, special election race for Honolulu City Prosecutor against Senior Deputy Prosecutor Franklin "Don" Pacarro, Jr. and former Honolulu City Prosecutor Keith Kaneshiro.

Kaneshiro won the special election with 76,999 votes, or 40 percent. Pacarro received 58,732 votes, or 30.5 percent, and Ching got 28,554 votes, or 14.9 percent. It was a winner-take-all election.

The position became open when former Honolulu City Prosecutor Peter Carlisle retired to run in a separate special election for mayor.
