Furlough Fridays

"Furlough Fridays" were mandatory furlough days the Hawaii State Board of Education imposed on public school teachers and personnel beginning in 2009 as a response to state budget problems. The Hawaii State Legislature cut the Hawaii Department of Education budget by a total of $469 million for the 2009-2011 school years.
