Honolulu Mayoral Election 2010

Former Honolulu prosecutor Peter Carlisle won the Sept. 18, 2010 special election for Honolulu mayor. The 57-year-old earned 38.7 percent of Honolulu voters’ support in the winner-take-all nonpartisan election. The win marks his fifth-straight victory in Honolulu elections.

The special election was held after Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann stepped down on July 20, 2010, to run for governor. Carlisle will fulfill the remaining 2 years of his term.
